Convocation Ceremony at GPRC
GPRC honoured the achievements of its latest graduates of the Grande Prairie campus on May 5 in a packed gymnasium. The total graduating class in attendance was approximately 200 for the 2017-2018 Academic Year.
This year’s Paul J. Evaskevich Valedictorian Award was given to Alexis Nellis, graduate of the two-year Business Administration diploma program with a specialization in Accounting.
The Beth Sheehan Salutatorian Award was presented to Jenise Aylward, a graduate of the Bachelor of Science in Nursing collaborative degree program.
GPRC is proud of all its students, and extends a sincere congratulations to the Class of 2018.

Motion Canada Invests $100,000 in GPRC Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) Program
In April, Motion Canada made an investment in the future of GPRC Industrial Mechanic students with a $100,000 donation to the program. The money will be used to update hardware and software for vibrational analysis equipment, increase hydraulic trainer units and add an additional milling machine to the millwright shop in Grande Prairie, now called the Motion Canada Millwright Shop. GPRC’s 3rd Annual Early Childhood Education Awards took place on the evening of May 10, in the Collins Recital Hall. Dual Credit Program: Another Pathway to Success
Josh Engel was granted the opportunity to make progress towards his goal of becoming a shop teacher through GPRC’s Dual Credit Program. The best part? He was still in high school! Recently Josh completed the 15-week Harley-Davidson® Technician Program in Fairview and gained valuable college experience in a field he’s eager to be a part of.

Tina Fabian: Inspiring Children to Read
GPRC Office Administration graduate Tina Fabian is the inspiration for the main character in Robert Munsch’s story Smelly Socks. Fabian came to GPRC this spring to read the story to GPRC’s Demonstration Daycare children, sharing her love for the book, the community she was raised in and her culture to the kids. Harley-Davidson® Raffle Winner
On June 15 at GPRC Fairview, the winning ticket was drawn for the 30th Annual Harley-Davidson® Raffle. Paul Sowinski of Grande Prairie was the grand prize winner of Harley-Davidson® FLHC Softail® in Vivid Black with GPRC Ready to Ride Safety Lesson.
Congratulations to second prize winner Dave Kramer of Fairview, AB who took home a $700 Harley-Davidson® Gift Credit. Congratulations Jamey Sutherland of Barrhead, AB who won the third prize draw of a $300 Harley-Davidson® Gift Credit.
The College thanks everyone who purchased a ticket for this sold-out fundraiser. Proceeds from this raffle go to supporting technology, education and training at GPRC Fairview. Your support is vital.
