Description:
The Valve Service Technician is responsible for the maintenance, repair and testing of various types of industrial valves used in field applications.
JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Take reasonable care to protect his/her health and safety and that of other workers by following Solution Services safety policies & procedures, as well as government and industry regulations.
• Responsible for repair and testing of various valves, including but not limited to ball valves, gate valves, plug valves, emergency shut downs, etc.
• Perform disassembly, cleaning, inspection, measuring, reassembly and testing of valves at Solution Services and client locations.
• Follow all schematics and documented procedures in accordance with all Quality Control and professional standards that apply to the job.
• Ensure that the necessary permits, registration, insurance, etc. are current in the unit that you are driving.
• Ensure assigned unit is washed regularly and that the inside is kept clean and organized. • Complete required administration requirements.
• Complete Inventories and equipment inspections on our smart phone accessible, cloud-based management system.
• Creation of daily field tickets for clients in Fieldcap
• Develop relationships in field for potential clients. Thank clients for the work and ask if we can assist with any other services.
• Assist in the development, implementation and maintenance of the company’s policies and procedures.
• Complete FLHA’s, Safety Observations and Hazard ID’s.
• Report any near misses, incidents, and accidents immediately to your supervisor and complete initial incident report.
• Arrive each day “fit for duty”, on time and prepared for work.
• Ensure all necessary safety training including customer orientations are kept current and updated in Workhub.
• Attend and participate in company safety and project kick off meetings.
• Journey Management – Communicate regularly with Dispatch an provide status updates, changes in road conditions, any possible delays on arrival to site or back to base.
• Thoroughly complete all calibration and documentation associated with testing and repairs.
• Travel to job sites and adhere to all site safety and performance requirements.
• Communicate timely updates to management, co-workers, and customers to ensure timely and successful completion of job responsibilities.
• Participating in risk assessments as part of daily operations including but not limited to working safely around industrial machinery, working from heights, in confined spaces and possible adverse weather conditions
