Northwestern Polytechnic's Indigenous Services team and Elders in Residence are please to host weekly events,
allowing everyone to connect with the heritage of our Indigenous peoples. All events will be delivered via
video conference, so anyone can join whether you're a student, staff or community member.
Morning Smudge | Daily
Smudging is cleansing and provides grounding and a sense of balance.

Traditional Drumming and Songs | Wednesdays
Join Elder, Theresa Gladue for a drumming circle that teaches participants how to play the hand drum while singing Indigenous songs. This group is open to anyone of any age and any skill level in the community. Spend an hour drumming and learning about drum protocol.
Sessions will begin with a ceremonial smudge and prayer.
