Description

This course offers strategies for assisting diverse client groups including infants, children, and individuals with mental disorders, substance use disorders, dementia, physical disabilities, and developmental challenges. Learners will gain essential knowledge related to hospice, palliative, end-of-life, and postmortem care. Through practical application, learners will apply evidence-informed practices to deliver compassionate and effective care to diverse populations. This course will also cover de-escalation strategies.



Requisites

  • Complete All of the following:
    • Complete the following:
      • HC1010 Roles and Responsibilities of an HCA 3
      • HC1020 Health Across the Lifespan 3
      • HC1030 Communication and Collaborative Care 4
      • HC1040 Fundamentals of Providing Safe, Person-Centred Care 5
      • HC1050 Introduction to Clinical Practice 3
    • A minimum grade of B- (70%) in the above courses.

  • Complete the following:
    • HC1060 Advanced Care Techniques: Addressing Complex Care Needs 5
