Description

This course introduces key social work theories and frameworks, including systems, biopsychosocial, structural, and strengths-based approaches among others. Students will explore how these theories inform assessment and intervention across diverse settings. Through critical reflection and case studies, students will also develop their own personalized framework of practice, integrating theory with real-world application to enhance their effectiveness in working with individuals, families, and communities.



Requisites

  • Complete All of the following:
    • Complete the following:
      • SW1000 Introduction to the Practice of Social Work 3
      • SW1010 Ethics in Social Work 3
      • SW1110 Interviewing with Individuals (Intervention and Assessment) 3
      • SW1120 Social Work with Children 3
    • A minimum grade of C (GPA 2.0) in the above courses.
