Northwestern Polytechnic (NWP) Athletics is proud to announce a new partnership with the Peace Country Female Athletic Club (PCFAC) Hockey program that will see the organization transition from the Storm to the Wolves brand, featuring signature navy and pink colours and iconic wolf head logo. “The Peace Region is home to exceptional athletic talent," said NWP President and CEO Dr. Vanessa Sheane. “This partnership is about creating a clearer pipeline for young female players to develop their skills, pursue post-secondary education, and see a future for themselves within collegiate sport in the region.” The collaboration marks an important step in strengthening competitive hockey pathways and enhancing development opportunities for young female athletes in Northern Alberta. By competing under the Wolves identity, PCFAC aims to create a stronger connection between community sport and post-secondary athletics in the region. “The partnership between PCFAC and the NWP Wolves is about building something bigger than hockey,” says Tanya Chomyc, PCFAC Director of Hockey Operations. “Together, we are creating stronger connections within our community, expanding opportunities for female athletes, and helping provide a clear and exciting pathway for the next generation of players in the Peace Country.” The new PFAC jerseys will be unveiled for the Winter 2026-27 season and will showcase a distinctive look aligned with the new NWP Wolves Women’s Hockey program. This partnership is a sign of good things to come, reflecting NWP Athletics’ commitment to investing in local athletes and supporting young women who pursue high-level hockey while staying close to home. “NWP Athletics is a firm believer in the power of sport to build community and create opportunity,” said NWP Wolves Athletic Director James Phillips. “We are excited to support the next generation of female hockey players in the Peace Country and to help foster an environment where athletes can develop, compete, and represent their region with pride.” The partnership will focus on athlete development, community engagement, and growing the visibility of female sport throughout the region. By aligning under the Wolves banner, both organizations hope to inspire more young female athletes to pursue hockey at a high level while strengthening the long-term future of the game in the region.
