Our Commitment to Providing Quality Education This mandate has been developed by Northwestern Polytechnic in consultation with Alberta’s Ministry of Advanced Education pursuant to Section 78 of the Post-secondary Learning Act (PSLA). 1. Institution-Type The Institution is a public post-secondary institution operating in Alberta as a polytechnic institution under the PSLA. 2. Credentials and Programming The Institution shall provide classroom instruction that is part of an apprenticeship education program. The Institution shall provide the following credentials: Diplomas Certificates The Institution may provide approved foundational learning and undergraduate degree programs. The Institution shall not provide graduate-level programs. The Institution may provide other undergraduate-level credentials listed in Part 1A of the Alberta Credential Framework. 3. Clients/Students The Institution shall collaborate with other post-secondary institutions to support regional access to polytechnic education. The Institution may collaborate with other post-secondary institutions to support regional access to diploma, certificate or undergraduate degree programs. 4. Geographic Service Area and Type of Delivery The Institution may undertake research and scholarly activities: that align with the credentials offered, or that are focused on strengthening economic development in the province. 5. Region The Institution delivers programs primarily in the Grande Prairie region.
