The Business Administration Post-Diploma Certificate is for students who have a post-secondary credential (a diploma or bachelor’s degree) and are looking for career-focused education and experience. This program is ideal for mature students interested in a new career, as well as International students looking to enhance and focus their career-ready skills in an international setting.

All students will learn fundamental business concepts in legal relations and business communications. In addition to completing these core business courses, students will have the opportunity to customize their certificate based on their career goals by selecting business electives from various specialization areas, including financial planning, marketing, and human resources management.

To be considered for admission, you must meet specific criteria, including English language proficiency and the following courses or equivalents:

  • Complete a minimum of 60 credits earning a Diploma with a minimum 1.7 cumulative GPA (60% or C-)

This course will help students develop editing, proofreading and writing skills for effective business communications. Upon completion, students will write and speak according to Standard English usage principles of word choice, spelling, sentence construction, grammar, punctuation and pronunciation. Successful completion of the course will help students communicate with the style that contributes to advancement in careers requiring excellent communication skills. The course will also focus on the development of keyboarding speed and accuracy through proven individualized skill building drills.

This course provides an overview of the human resource function in contemporary business. Specifically, the topics covered include: the legal aspects of HR, HR planning, job analysis and design, recruitment and selection, training and development, performance management, compensation and benefits, employee relations, and health and safety.

This course explores the analysis of the roles and functions of money, financial markets and institutions, and central banks with a focus on the Canadian economy. Students will also learn the structure of the financial system and theory and practice of the monetary policy.
