Breadcrumb About News First-Year Domestic Students Eligible for $2000 Entry Bursary Posted 8 May, 2023 NWP News Share Northwestern Polytechnic today announced that local first-year students, who have completed their registration to one of four eligible programs, will now be automatically eligible for a $2000 entry bursary. “We want to support as many students as possible in coming to NWP so they can drive our economy and region forward,” says NWP President and CEO, Justin Kohlman. “Our Welcome First Fund will enable new students to focus on their studies and maximize the entrepreneurial NWP experience.” Made possible by signature NWP fundraising events and the learning community’s generous donations, these bursaries will support new domestic students to pursue their educational and career goals. During this inaugural year of the Welcome First Award, 32 recipients will be selected from first-year domestic students registered within the following programs: Bachelor Business Administration Degree Bachelor of Computing Science Degree Practical Nurse Diploma Fairview Campus Health Care Aide Certificate Fairview Campus Eligible students are not required to apply for this scholarship opportunity and will be automatically qualified provided that they have completed the following tasks by May 31, 2023: Submitted application for admission and received confirmed and/or conditional admission, Fully paid the $250 registration deposit, and Registered in a full program course load for a minimum of two semesters. “We appreciate that a post-secondary education is a significant investment, and we are always looking for ways to support our students and increase accessibility,” says Dr. Vanessa Sheane, NWP Provost and Vice-President Academic. “The community’s on-going support of fundraising initiatives, like the upcoming Northwestern Classic golf tournament, goes a long way in helping us spark and empower student success.” Northwestern Polytechnic’s 34th annual golf event on June 2, 2023, The Northwestern Classic, is one of NWP’s largest fundraisers.
