The History of Lands and Galaxies Far, Far Away

Description

This course uses the history of fictional worlds (such as Middle Earth, Westeros, and the Star Wars universe) as material to help students refine their historical thinking skills. These worlds serve as historical sandboxes in which students can understand process without being overwhelmed by the extent of real-world content. Emphasis will be placed on historical thinking skills; researching, constructing, and presenting chronology; historical context; cause and consequence; narrative structure and perspective; and inspirational links to real-world history.
