Douglas J. Cardinal Performing Arts Centre

Many graduates, talented performers, and rising stars have proudly crossed this renowned stage. The DJC Performing Arts Centre is the largest theatre in the Peace Region, featuring premier sound and lighting, sophisticated design, and seating for 500 guests. This Grande Prairie campus gem brings the community together - and every performance to life.

Collins Recital Hall

Named in honour of longtime NWP supporters Muriel and Clement Collins, this versatile space seats up to 150 guests. With tiered retractable seating, dual overhead projectors, drop-down screens and professional lighting and sound, this versatile venue is ideal for performances, presentations and community events.

Fred Speckeen Theatre

It’s showtime! Located on our Fairview Campus, the Fred Speckeen Theatre seats 310 guests and features professional dimming, lighting, and integrated video and audio systems. Whether it’s an inspired theatre production, recital or speaking engagement, this fully equipped venue sets the stage for unforgettable experiences.

NWP Gymnasium

Welcome to the Wolves Den! The NWP gymnasium is a fierce venue for leagues, tournaments and high-energy events. As the home court for the Wolves' basketball, volleyball, and futsal teams, this 17,000-square-foot gymnasium can be configured to accommodate either four volleyball courts or two basketball courts. It has hosted national and provincial events, championships, and epic youth competitions. With fan zone seating, ample parking, and a layout that is the best in the region, it’s where athletes bring their A-game - and spectators bring the noise!

Recording Studio

Strike the right chord and bring your sound to life in our state-of-the-art recording spaces. From isolated vocal booths to full production suites, our studios are equipped for serious sound work. Book by the hour or the day, and work alongside an experienced producer, recordist, and mix engineer to create a professional-grade recording of your performance, podcast, or project.

Research & Innovative Facilities

National Bee Diagnostic Centre (NBDC)

Established in 2013, NWP’s National Bee Diagnostic Centre is Canada’s only facility dedicated to bee and pollinator diagnostics. Located in Beaverlodge, Alberta, the NBDC (link) supports pollinator health and food security through applied research, specialized training, and advanced lab services—including pest detection, honey analysis, and resistance screening.

With a five-room molecular suite, next-generation sequencer, and other highly specialized equipment, the NBDC contributes to a wide range of research initiatives in the natural and life sciences. As one of just 67 NSERC-designated Technology Access Centres nationwide, we collaborate with producers, scientists, and students to deliver real-world, sustainable solutions.

Fairview Farm

NWP’s Fairview campus is home to a working farm that supports hands-on learning for students in  Veterinary Technology and Agricultural Operations programs. The farm includes a large, modern animal handling facility and an on-campus animal hospital, where students gain real-world experience with both livestock and companion animals.

Whether they’re assisting with animal diagnostics, practicing sustainable farming techniques or contributing to applied research, students benefit from this dynamic, hands-on environment.

Health Education Centre

Located within the Grande Prairie Regional Hospital, the NWP’s Health Education Centre (HEC) offers 40,000 sq ft of advanced simulation labs, modern classrooms, and collaborative learning spaces.

Students in health and medical programs gain hands-on experience in a real clinical setting, preparing them for rewarding and impactful careers in the field. Through initiatives like the Northern Alberta Medical Program, NWP is training the next generation of rural healthcare professionals. Plans are also underway to expand with new purpose-built spaces as part of our growing health education district.

Spartan Controls Northwestern Centre for Industrial Automation and Innovation

Established in 2025, the Spartan Controls Northwestern Centre for Industrial Automation and Innovation is a full-service training facility that supports careers in power generation and industrial automation. 

The engineering laboratory is equipped with advanced technology and custom-integrated systems, including boilers, steam turbines, and water treatment packages. The lab provides immersive, hands-on learning for students in the 3rd Class Power Engineering and Instrumentation and Control Technician apprenticeship programs.

This full-service training and education space has everything you need to become an expert in power generation. Students receive hands-on training with boilers, steam turbines, water treatment systems, and other related equipment.

Located at NWP’s Grande Prairie campus, the Side Family CEE is the premier hub in northwest Alberta dedicated to supporting new ventures and accelerating business growth in the region. Fitness Centre

At NWP’s Grande Prairie campus, the Fitness Centre is equipped with high-performance cardio and weight-training equipment, as well as spacious areas for group classes and personal training. 

NWP students with a valid NWP Student ID can access the weight room and gymnasium for free during academic semesters.

Fairview Fitness Centre

The Fairview Campus is home to the Community Centre, where you’ll find a weight room equipped with the full range of exercise equipment and an extensive range of weights, plus racquetball/squash courts, a full-sized indoor pool with a waterslide and hot tub, and relaxing sauna and steam room facilities.

High Performance Training Centre

Located on our Grande Prairie campus, NWP’s High-Performance Training Centre is designed for serious strength and elite-level conditioning. Outfitted with Hammer Strength equipment, Olympic lifting platforms, turf for speed and agility drills, and an array of functional training tools, it’s where next-level athletes unlock their potential.

The Learning Commons is where learning, research, and support come together. Commons are located on both campuses and are also accessible online. Students and faculty have access to assistive learning technologies, printing and testing services, and research workshops, including the Academic Success Centre, which helps students become independent and successful in their studies.
