What to Expect

Typically, apprentices train for four years and then write provincial examinations set by industry and the Government of Alberta. Upon successful program completion, you will be certified by the Province as a qualified tradesperson or journeyperson. At this time, you may also write interprovincial exams to obtain Red Seal status.

Getting Started

To become an apprentice, you must be at least 16 years old and meet the minimum educational requirements for your trade.
