The Water and Wastewater Technician program provides in-depth knowledge of water distribution systems, water treatment, wastewater collection, and wastewater treatment. Students will gain expertise in operating and maintaining water distribution and treatment facilities, while also learning about underground pipeline repair and small water systems management. Advanced topics in wastewater collection and treatment, including asset management and specialized treatment processes, ensure a well-rounded education in the field of water and wastewater management.

It covers hazard identification and mitigation, preliminary treatment, primary and secondary treatment processes, disinfection, lagoon operations, and laboratory techniques. The student will also learn the importance of data recording, recordkeeping, and laboratory quality control in the context of wastewater treatment.
