Additionally, the course provides strategies for HCAs to compassionately support clients through the death and dying process, focusing on holistic and empathetic care.

This course provides learners with essential communication skills for effective collaboration within the health care team. Through practical learning, HCAs will acquire techniques to interact professionally and competently with all members of the health care team. The course focuses on various forms of written documentation, problem-solving, conflict resolution, cultural safety, and cultural humility. Additionally, learners will develop strategies to overcome communication challenges with clients experiencing communication impairments.

Applying evidence-informed principles, learners will practice skills to support clients with their activities of daily living, emphasizing professionalism and compassionate care. This introductory clinical practice course provides learners with the opportunity to engage in the practical application of their acquired knowledge and skills with adult clients across various healthcare environments. Emphasis is placed on delivering person-centred care that supports activities of daily living. Learners will apply the principles of effective communication and documentation.

Throughout the course, learners will gain an understanding of their legal and ethical responsibilities as HCAs related to complex skills and restricted activities. This comprehensive approach aims to foster greater awareness, competence, and confidence, enabling learners to provide high-quality client care.

This course offers strategies for assisting diverse client groups including infants, children, and individuals with mental disorders, substance use disorders, dementia, physical disabilities, and developmental challenges. Learners will gain essential knowledge related to hospice, palliative, end-of-life, and postmortem care. Through practical application, learners will apply evidence-informed practices to deliver compassionate and effective care to diverse populations. This course will also cover de-escalation strategies.

This clinical practice course builds upon introductory skills and knowledge, allowing learners to gain further practical experience in various health care settings. This final consolidated clinical practice course provides learners with an immersive experience, integrating all previously acquired knowledge and skills in the care of clients. Emphasis is placed on delivering comprehensive person-centred care. Learners will demonstrate proficient communication and documentation abilities, playing a pivotal role in the health care team. This final course prepares learners for professional practice, ensuring they are competent and confident in their clinical abilities as they transition to their careers.

This course examines air conditioning systems found in on and off highway equipment. Systems, components, controls, service, troubleshooting and repair, and environmental stewardship are included topics.

With a focus on Caterpillar fuels systems, this course will examine: diesel fuel and storage, combination processes, starting aids, the fuel injection system, system service, fuel nozzles and injectors, tune-up and engine performance analysis, and emergency shutdown systems. Electronic fuel and engine management systems will be emphasized.

Focusing on the Caterpillar engine product line, this course examines engine function, component, operation, and systems. This includes the disassembly, inspection, and reassembly of a running diesel engine.

Primarily a lab based course where the students' knowledge will be challenged and troubleshooting skills developed. Students will be required to successfully diagnose and repair engine faults in a real world setting.

This course is designed to teach the system operations and the testing and adjusting procedures for the pilot operated hydraulic system, the load sensing, pressure compensated (LSPC) hydraulic system, the electro-hydraulic system, and the hydrostatic system. Students will identify the system components, state the component function and trace the oil flow through the component. This section will be covered on different types of machines.

This course will cover power train components that are mechanical power transfer units. These include clutches, driveline, manual transmissions, transfer cases and drive axle assemblies. Also covered will be gear principles, transmission shifting and the servicing of the previous assemblies.

This course will cover the fundamentals of steering as well as service of steering systems. Also covered will be steering angles and alignment, and an orientation to vehicle inspection.

Primarily a lab based course where the students' knowledge will be challenged and trouble shooting skills developed. Students will be required to successfully diagnose and repair Off Road machine systems in a real world setting.
