Central to this exploration is the examination of how rebellious, nonconformist, and outsider art forms interact with, and ultimately reshape, institutional structures. This inquiry probes the extent to which artistic dissidence and boundary-pushing is assimilated into the institutional framework. Although the primary focus is on Western art establishments, the curriculum encompasses a global perspective, featuring national artists as well as transnational art coalitions. This expansive view facilitates an introduction to a spectrum of art discourses and theoretical constructs. Students will engage with a diversity of artistic media, among them, installations, painting, performance, photography, sculpture, unconventional materials, and video. The objective is to enrich students' understanding and articulation of their own artistic practice through a multifaceted interpretative lens and a broad material palette.
