International Students Getting Started Applying to Northwestern Polytechnic is simple, and we’re here to guide you. Whether you’re applying for a certificate, diploma, degree or upgrading your skills, everything you need to get started is right here. Step 1: The Basics Understand the basics, including which programs you can take, when you should apply, tuition and fees, and what to expect after you submit your application. Admission Basics Step2: Prepare Documentation Before you apply, make sure you have the following documents in English or with a certified translation: The program or course you want to take. A list of your current or completed high school or post-secondary courses. Your high school final or current midterm grades. Your Alberta Student Number (ASN) (You can look up or create an ASN online, or during the application process.) Please note that some programs may have different admission requirements. If you are unsure, contact us - we’re happy to help. Step 3: Apply When you are ready to apply, submit your application through the ApplyAlberta portal. Important notes Payment may be required. Documents will not be reviewed for admission by NWP until an application is received. You will be notified if an IQAS assessment is required. During busy times of the year (August to September and December to January), processing times may be longer than expected. Apply Step 4: Complete Consent Form (optional) If you need NWP to communicate with a third party about your application, admission, financial details and more, please complete the Release of Information Consent Form.
