After graduating from Northwestern Polytechnic's (NWP) collaborative Bachelor of Science degree program in Nursing, Jesse remains connected with faculty and staff at NWP. This connection helped Jesse secure his current role as a Registered Nurse for Alberta Health Services Public Health Department. Thanks to attending NWP, Jesse has taken advantage of resources and advice offered by professors he met during his studies. When it comes to success in the nursing field, Jesse points out that one of the greatest assets from attending NWP has been the professional connections he made. The smaller campus size meant that Jesse could establish meaningful relationships with faculty members and other students, which has paid off immensely in his professional life. "Studying and doing practicums in the same community as you work in has been so helpful,” said Jesse. “Not only in fostering early professional relationships but also in gaining experience in local and zone processes unique to our city." Jesse's story proves that attending a smaller post-secondary can be beneficial, especially when building professional networks and creating meaningful connections with faculty and staff. Through the unique opportunities provided by NWP, Jesse gained invaluable resources and advice from professors eager to help him succeed. He now utilizes these connections regularly in his RN job and encourages other nursing students to explore the possibilities offered at Northwestern Polytechnic.
