Department Differentiators

Get set for success. Our career-focused education, industry connections, and work-integrated learning opportunities put students at the forefront of workplace readiness.

With access to business mentorship and cooperative learning programs, along with participation in signature events such as the Alberta Deans of Business Case Competition, NWP Student Business Conference, and Career Closet, we offer department differentiators that give students and graduates a competitive edge.

The Career Closet is a student-led initiative held every other Winter Semester. It's a free resource offering students and community members professional attire for interviews, career fairs, and other professional events.

Would you like to support this initiative? Preparation starts in January, so be sure to check back for updates in early 2027.

The Student Business Conference is a student-run event held every other Winter Semester. It's an event that gives NWP’s future business leaders an opportunity to learn from local captains of industry and network with professionals and potential employers.

The Conference also allows businesses to connect with emerging talent, share knowledge, and build relationships that bridge the gap between education and industry.

With a keynote speaker, catered lunch, and engaging breakout sessions, this networking event aims to provide practical knowledge, industry insights, and valuable contacts to help students start their careers.

Would you like to support this event? Preparation will start in January 2028, so be sure to check back for updates.
