This course includes corporate goals, planning and control concepts, cost accumulation for pricing purposes and product costing.

Building on previous accounting concepts and course work, students will examine the more complex issues involved with recording, reporting and disclosure in a variety of operating environments. Topics include investment in equity securities, business combinations and consolidations, foreign currency transactions and accounting for not-for-profit organizations including public sector reporting.

The relationship between management accounting, strategic management, planning, control and decision making is explored in this course. Topics include management control alternatives, financial responsibility centers, planning and budgeting, incentive systems, performance measures and their effects and uncontrollable factors. Corporate governance, control systems in non-profit organizations and management control related ethical issues are also examined.

This is an individualized program of study skills, planned and supervised study time and tutorial assistance. Components of the course include developing study skills needed for success in NWP courses, managing and prioritizing study time and working on assignments and projects with supervised tutorial assistance for select courses.

In this workshop-style course, learners will examine the rights and responsibilities of the worker as well as the employer in relation to current legislation (including Workers' Compensation, Employment Standards Code and Regulations). One focus will be to gain the attitudes, knowledge and skills related to workplace health and safety. Upon successful completion of agency exams, students will receive certificates from the Job Safety Skills Society. In addition, students will develop a resume specifically geared to obtaining part-time work while they are continuing their education.

This course aligns with the First Period Technical Training Curriculum for the Agricultural Equipment Technician Trade.

This course builds on the knowledge gained in AG1000 focusing on Spraying and Harvesting Equipment as well as Seeding and Precision Farming Systems.

Students will explore the role pest management and pesticide application play in modern farming. Emphasis is placed on pest identification, management strategies, and safety.

Included in this course is Alberta Air Brakes (Q Endorsement) curriculum and assessments.

Students are responsible for securing an approved work placement; the work experience is monitored and evaluated by the employer.
