Readiness Workshops

Readiness Workshops are monthly sessions that give you the opportunity to preview Workday. These sessions are open to everyone, and attendance is optional.

This introductory Workday readiness session provided an overview of Workday, including how to navigate the homepage, use the search bar, and access the worker profile. It also provided a brief explanation of My Tasks and Notifications to help you identify where to find action items and important updates as you begin using the system.

This session offers a simple preview of how Workday understands who you report to, how teams are structured, and how work is categorized for reporting and approvals. You’ll see how these concepts show up in the system, including how to view your team and understand how tasks and approvals flow.

The project is led by the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Steering Team and includes colleagues from senior leadership and the finance, human resources, and information technology departments.

Change Ambassadors from across the organization are integral to this project, serving as key connectors between the project team and their respective areas. To view our list of Change Ambassadors, please visit our Workday SharePoint site.

Progress Milestones

On February 25, our project team hosted the first session in our Readiness Workshop series. Readiness Workshops are open to all end-users and provide a preview of various Workday areas. During this session, attendees were introduced to Workday and learned how to navigate the homepage, use the search bar, and access their worker profile. The session recording is available on the Workday SharePoint.

On January 7, our Workday Implementation Change Management team, together with 28 nominated Change Ambassadors from across the institution, participated in the project's Change Network Kickoff. This session served as the Change Network's first opportunity to hear directly from the project team about key project updates, upcoming change management activities, and spotlight communications.

Huron held many sessions from November 2 -13, giving our learning community a hands-on look at the product in the early stages. Feedback from these sessions will be integral in improving future systemization and processes.

After countless hours spent mapping business processes and collecting and validating data, HR and Finance completed unit testing in early November. This step allows NWP staff to verify that the work completed during sessions with Huron has resulted in a system that accurately reflects our business processes. It is also a critical time to identify any deficiencies so they can be addressed before final testing.

NWP selected Huron Consulting Group as our implementation partner following a Request for Proposal (RFP) process. Their submission detailed a 12-month completion plan for Finance and Human Resources.
