Review of skills learned throughout the program by performing the tasks and responsibilities of an Animal Health Technician in a clinic and pharmacy setting. The student will perform reception duties, book, admit and discharge patients, perform laboratory tests, administer medications, monitor patients and discuss cases on rounds, maintain records, files and inventories and many other duties required of an Animal Health Technician in a private practice. The student is expected to demonstrate teamwork and cooperation at all times.

Students are expected to use proper dental terminology and identify normal tooth anatomy, function, eruption and dental formula. Students learn to instruct clients on dental home care procedures. Common dental problems and diseases are covered with emphasis on small animal and equine patients. Proper use, care and maintenance of dental equipment is covered. Principles of dental radiography are discussed. Proficiency in basic dental prophylaxis will be developed using live animals and cadavers.

This course will cover preparation for the Veterinary Technicians National Exam (VTNE). Students will receive special presentations, guest speakers and discussion of cases or rounds on the clinic rotations when possible.

This practicum is an experiential mentorship centered on Indigenous curatorial methodologies, exhibition development, and professional practice within a gallery setting. Students collaborate with a curator, exhibiting artist, and gallery team to support the research, planning, layout, object handling, and installation of a contemporary exhibition. Through hands-on participation students gain foundational experience in exhibition design, institutional practices, and career pathways within the arts and cultural sector.

This course focuses on principles of effective business communications, both written and spoken, including mechanics, style, tone, organization and APA style referencing. Specific topics include composing business letters, memoranda and emails; writing formal reports; principles of graphic design; and conducting effective business meetings.

This course emphasizes a range of mathematical calculations used in business. Students will be introduced to simple interest, compound interest, annuities, amortization and sinking funds. Practical applications will be emphasized in the course.

The course examines the field of e-commerce and how it has changed the retail and business-to-business environments. Through a combination of theory and practical application, an understanding of e-commerce is developed. Knowledge of the essential business functions required, as well as the issues related to creating and managing an e-commerce business, is developed.

This course is the second of a two part, in-depth course examining the concepts of cost and managerial accounting initiated in BA2130. Topics include the following: cost-volume-profit analysis, relevant costing and short-term decision making.

This course is designed to introduce students to the concepts of marketing with social media. Content will go beyond general theories and knowledge to utilize social media marketing for business. Upon completion, students will be able to create and use social media tools to achieve marketing goals as part of an Integrated Marketing Communication plan.

This course covers the fundamental investment concepts of risk and return, portfolio diversification, asset allocation, portfolio evaluation, ratio analysis, and innovative types of investment products available in the marketplace.

This course introduces students to the principles and applications of financial modeling using Microsoft Excel. Topics include building dynamic models for financial statements, valuation, capital budgeting, forecasting, and risk analysis. Students will learn to apply Excel functions, data analysis tools, and scenario techniques to solve real-world financial problems and support decision-making.

This course focuses on the role of the early childhood practitioner in providing family-centered care and education for children from birth to age 8. The skills, knowledge, and attributes required to develop and sustain positive, collaborative, and empowering relationships with families are examined.

This course focuses on user and audience interactivity with digital interfaces. Through a combination of projects and lectures, students will gain an understanding of how to apply various research and assessment strategies to interactivity with users and audiences. Interactive Design involves research, prototypes and usability assessments as students consider how an audience and context relate to their design approaches.

Introduction to the elements and principles of web design. Through a combination of lectures, practical and theoretical projects, students learn the fundamentals of web design. The course applies many of the principles of design and typography to web-based platforms.

This course combines the theory and practice from year 1 to engage with the broader ecosystem of project development. Digital Design III is a collaborative course that emphasizes professional communication and conceptual thinking. Students gain experience with the stages of design process in a studio environment, including research, ideation, as well as creative problem solving.

Understanding how to plan and establish successful classroom management techniques while ensuring student engagement is a crucial part of effective teaching at all grade levels. In this course, key aspects will be explored to equip pre-service teachers with strategies and skills to establish positive, structured, and supportive learning environments. Emphasis is placed on embedding classroom organization and management techniques into every lesson and regular routines. Through applied practice and reflection, students will develop multiple strategies conducive to smooth classroom functioning and optimal student engagement.

This course prepares pre-service teachers to inclusively support and educate children with complex learning, communication, behavioural, physical, developmental, and multiple exceptionalities in Canadian schools. Students will develop knowledge and skills in evidence-informed instructional strategies, inclusive classrooms, and trauma-informed approaches. Special emphasis is placed on supporting students with complex medical needs, emotional and behavioural disabilities, and mental health challenges. Through case studies, literature analysis, reflective activities, and practical assignments, students will acquire the tools to create inclusive, safe, and supportive learning environments that promote equitable access, participation, and meaningful learning for all students.

This course introduces students to foundational concepts and application of educational technology in the 21st-century classroom. Students will move beyond using technology to evaluating and designing learning experiences that leverage the unique affordances of digital tools to strengthen learning for children and adolescents. Students will gain pedagogical strategies linked to school curriculum and understand the role of educators in equipping K-12 learners with digital literacy skills to better prepare them for global and digital citizenship.
