The Northwestern Polytechnic Employees' Association (EA) represents approximately 115 full-time and part-time NWP Grande Prairie Campus support staff. It acts on behalf of its members to the Board of Governors, Administration, and Academic Council and, upon approval of the Association, any other NWP groups, organizations, and committees.

The EA also acts as a bargaining agent for all members of the Association and represents the needs, concerns and interests of all members in matters of professional development; grievances (both external and internal); job classifications and other personnel matters; social and recreational activities; and general support of academic and non-academic activities of the Learning Community through monetary and/or volunteer support.

Carolyn Burton, Office Administration Certificate, completed in Corner Brook, NL at College of the North Atlantic.  Since moving to Grande Prairie in 2003 Carolyn has worked in the Administrative Assistant field with the Government of Alberta, Grande Prairie Public School District and now with Grande Prairie Regional College.  She started at the college over a year ago as a Registration Assistant before accepting her current position with Research and Innovation.  Carolyn enjoys the Administrative field and finds her career very rewarding.

When not working, she loves to spend time with her family and enjoys outdoor activities like camping.
