More About Dana
Dana Wieben, BRT, CTRS, CCPA student member, is the mental health counsellor on the Fairview campus. She is currently in the practicum-stage of her graduate degree in Counselling Psychology. Dana has worked in institutional and healthcare settings and has a passion for well-being and cultivating resilience. She recognizes that there is a stigmatization of mental healthcare with gender and industry, with a major focus of her work being directed at developing healthy coping skills to navigate and manage the tough times that happen in life. Having been surrounded by the trades industry her whole life, Dana places a high valuation on supporting tradespeople in developing self-awareness and identifying the challenges that they experience to ensure that they can take care of themselves. Dana primarily uses Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy strategies to promote a conversational approach to counselling.
