More About Ward
Ward Doucette is a Red Seal, Master Electrician with 18 years experience in commercial, industrial and electrical service industries. He spent five years with J.A.L. Electric, honing his skills and developing a mentorship approach to working with apprentices. He then spent five years working with Bucyrus Canada, a company that built large, electric mining equipment for use in open pit mines throughout Alberta and British Columbia. This included building a dragline for Trans Alta Utilities, which is the largest piece of electric-driven, earth-moving equipment in Canada.
After moving to an acreage outside of Grande Prairie, Ward set his sights on landing an instructor position at the Northwestern Polytechnic, formerly Grande Prairie Regional College, to further instill knowledge in up and coming electricians. He joined the ranks of electrical instructors in 2019, weathered the COVID-19 pandemic and continues to use his skills and experience to continuously improve the electrical programs and student experience at Northwestern Polytechnic.
