Name: Caitlin Paul
Jersey Number. Is there a story behind it? #14. This is my first year with this number. My usual jersey number was unavailable, so I chose #14 for no particular reason.
Hometown: Fairview, Alberta
High School: Fairview High School
At what age did you start playing your sport? What drew you to the game? I started playing in Grade 5 in an afterschool basketball program. I was drawn to basketball because it was fun and I enjoyed the competitiveness of it, as well as the team atmosphere.
What is your fondest memory of your sport? I had a very enjoyable high school basketball experience and some of my best memories include roadtrips to various tournaments with my team. Playing in several GPRC all-star games with girls from all around the Peace Region is also one of my fondest memories.
Any pre or post-game rituals that you would be willing to share? How do you prepare? I like to listen to music on game day, it helps me mentally prepare and think about what I want to bring to the court. Getting a good breakfast and preparing with my teammates are also important parts of my pre-game ritual.
What are your future goals? Finish post-secondary and graduate with a Bachelor of Education, while continuing to play basketball. After College, I hope to teach Elementary somewhere in northern Alberta and maybe do some coaching.
From Head Coach, Bill Bradley
Any special game moments, stats you’d like to share? It is exciting to watch Caitlin on the court. She plays with such determination and speed that every time she has the ball could become a special moment.
What does this player bring to the dynamics of the team? Caitlin has quickly become the most consistent player on our team, she comes into every game prepared and ready to do her job. She has developed into a player that I trust to play her best every time she’s on the court. I believe she inspires others with her selflessness and constant effort.
