News Archives: WBB Adds Heaney to the Roster

Recruitment season has kicked off for the 2023-2024 NWP Wolves Women’s Basketball team. Northwestern Polytechnic is pleased to welcome new athletes into inclusive post-secondary sports through the priority of delivering a unique student experience for every wolf-pack member. Head Coach, Bill Bradley is excited to add recruits to the roster.
Say hello to Ella Heaney.
As a Grande Prairie local, Heaney is excited to be joining the wolf pack and brings with her many years of experience. Heaney began her basketball journey in junior high school, playing for both her junior and senior high school (Charles Spencer High School) teams. Heaney was also an avid attendee of the Swan City basketball camps, training, and volunteering from 2019-2021. During the 2021-2022 season, Heaney was on the Swan City U17 team.
Upon being offered an opportunity at NWP to play basketball, Heaney admits that she is excited to see where all the training and hard work will take her. She is most looking forward to developing her basketball skills and knowledge, with the help of her new teammates.
Head Coach Bill Bradley is pleased to welcome Heaney to the program.
“Ella has shown she is dedicated to growth and the pursuit of excellence in our sport,” said Bradley. “I look forward to helping her develop into the player she aspires to be.”
