Recruitment season has kicked off for the 2023-2024 NWP Wolves Men’s Volleyball team. Northwestern Polytechnic is pleased to welcome new athletes into inclusive post-secondary sports through the priority of delivering a unique student experience for every wolf-pack member. Head Coach, Matthew Powell is excited to add recruits to the roster.
Meet Kelvin Chen a multi-talented athlete from Vancouver, British Columbia, who is excited to join the Wolves Men’s Volleyball team for the upcoming year.
Chen brings with him an impressive athletic resume, including winning 2023 U18 Best of the West Bronze with 604 Volleyball Club, as well as the 2023 U18 Provincial Gold with 604 Volleyball Club.
When asked why he chose NWP, Chen explained that NWP will provide him with the opportunity to grow as both an athlete and a person. Chen added that he can’t wait to play in the competitive Alberta Conference Athletic Conference.
In his rookie year, Chen is most excited to play volleyball at a post-secondary level. “It has been a dream of mine.” Joining the wolfpack and making new friends is something that Chen is looking forward to in his rookie year with the Wolves.
Head Coach Matthew Powell is excited to work with Chen, adding, “Kelvin's ability to control the ball in all facets of the game will make an immediate impact.
He brings championship pedigree to NWP, and we can't wait to see him in a Wolves jersey.”
Welcome to the pack, Kelvin.
