Recruitment season has kicked off for the 2023-2024 NWP Wolves Men’s Volleyball team. Northwestern Polytechnic is pleased to welcome new athletes into inclusive post-secondary sports through the priority of delivering a unique student experience for every wolf-pack member. Head Coach, Matthew Powell is excited to add recruits to the roster.
Meet Carter King a multi-talented athlete from Grande Prairie, Alberta who is excited to join the Wolves Men’s Volleyball team for the upcoming year.
King brings with him an impressive athletic resume, including becoming the 2022 Charles Spencer High School Captain and N.W.A.S.A.A 4a Zone Champions, the 2022 NWP All-Star Game MVP, and on the Velocity U18.
When asked why he chose NWP, King explained that when he moved to Grande Prairie in grade nine, he made it his goal to play volleyball for the NWP Wolves.
“I am honoured to chose NWP, both for the opportunity to continue my education and for the chance to play the sport I love,” said King. “Being a part of a team and being able to channel my competitive nature, will allow me to thrive on my post-secondary pathway.”
In his rookie year, King is most excited to push himself to play a higher level of volleyball. He added that he is looking forward to gaining perspective and feedback from a new coaching staff.
“I am ready to have fun and make memories on and off the court!”
Head Coach Matthew Powell is excited to work with King, adding, “Carter brings passion and energy to our program. He's the type of athlete that can change the momentum of a match with one spectacular dig. We look forward to seeing him extend some plays!”
Welcome to the pack, Carter.
