Athlete of the Week: Clinton Owusu
Thursday, January 30th, 2025

Indoor Track is off to a running start, with third-year nursing student Clinton Owusu leading the pack for the Wolves last weekend in Edmonton. At the Running Room Grand Prix #1 hosted by Concordia University of Edmonton, Owusu competed in three events over the five-hour meet, picking up valuable points for the team. For his performance, Owusu was named the Wolves Athlete of the Week, presented by Rebel Fit Nutrition.
In his first event of the meet, running the anchor leg of the 4x200m relay, Owusu's seamless baton exchange led to a second-place finish in the heat, good enough for fifth place overall.
With only an hour to recharge before his next heat, Owusu was back at the start line amongst a 19-man field of mostly unknowns. Pacing himself paid off, and with 100 meters to the tape and gas left in the tank, he cleared the pack by 50 meters, resulting in a smooth and strong first-place finish, seventh overall.
Closing out the meet, Owusu ran the third leg of the 4x400m relay. After receiving the baton, he shaved off crucial time for the Wolves, taking them from fourth to third place in the heat and fifth place overall.
Next up, Owusu and the Wolves will travel to Red Deer for the Running Room Grand Prix #2, hosted by Red Deer Polytechnic. Fans can find out more information about the meet by visiting acac.ab.ca.
