Member of Parliament Chris Warkentin graduated from the Business Administration program at GPRC in 2000, and began his career as a building contractor and construction executive. Within a few short years, his political career was also launched. Chris had already been active in politics for several years, having been elected to the board of the local constituency at the age of 18. By the time he was 26, he had earned the support of the constituency as candidate in the federal election of 2006. He was elected Member of Parliament for the Peace River riding, and has held it through subsequent elections in 2008 and 2011. Among his numerous duties, he has served as Chair of the Standing Committee on Aboriginal Affairs and Northern Development.
