Carolyn Vasileiou is the GPRC instructor known for having built and developed the Hospitality and Tourism Management program over the past several years. What is less known is that she has also modelled and taught a “habit” of volunteerism to each cohort of her students. GPRC presented Carolyn Vasileiou with the Distinguished Volunteer Award 2013.
Carolyn and her students have provided enthusiastic support to many College and community fundraising events, ensuring their success and profitability. If you have attended the GPRC President’s Ball or the Festival of Trees you have undoubtedly experienced the helpful “hospitality” of Carolyn’s students – and perhaps you have seen her cheerful guidance as she quietly solves problems and encourages those who falter.
Carolyn has been a volunteer member of the GPRC Alumni/Foundation Board of Directors and the Grande Prairie Regional Tourism Board as well as many other community groups which have benefitted so greatly from the volunteerism which she has exhibited and which she has instilled in her students.
