REPORTS TO: Collections Services Manager
POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for circulation and tracking of blocks and kits, block and kit circulation statistics, coordination and distribution of Summer Reading Club materials, processing of catalogued books and preparing them for delivery, sorting books for courier delivery.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
1) Signs out book blocks, story time kits, programming kits and other collections when requested by libraries.
2) Prepares blocks and kits for delivery by courier.
3) Tracks loans and keeps statistics, arranges for return of overdue items.
4) Processes catalogued items, including laminating, spine labels, RFID.
5) Produces packing slips on Polaris and prepares items for delivery.
6) Assists with sorting and packing of interlibrary transfer materials.
7) Co-operates as a team member in the performance of duties contributing to the achievement of Peace Library System goals and objectives.
8) Follows safe work procedures in compliance with Occupational Health and Safety legislation.
9) Other duties as required.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
1) High school diploma or GED
2) Basic computer literacy skills are preferred. Ability to use MS Office suite in a Windows environment, library software and web-based applications is an asset..
3) Accuracy and attention to detail.
4) Ability to bend, lift, and move up to 50 lbs.
5) Outstanding interpersonal skills in a busy environment.
