This course covers the fundamental investment concepts of risk and return, portfolio diversification, asset allocation, portfolio evaluation, ratio analysis, and innovative types of investment products available in the marketplace.

Students will develop proficiency in care and use of lab equipment, performing dilutions, conversions and quality control. Features of bacteria, fungi and viruses are discussed and basic microbiological agents are covered. Students will learn to group bacteria and fungi according to staining results, morphology and characteristics. Practical microbiological procedures will be performed or discussed to help differentiate common microbiological pathogens. Important veterinary infectious diseases and their clinical signs, treatment and human health implications are discussed. Case studies will be used in presentation of course material.

Students will learn basic husbandry, common nursing care procedures and diseases of rabbits, rodents, birds, reptiles and other exotic animals. Human health implications of handling and working with these animals will be discussed. Students will gain knowledge of regulations and protocols involved in working with laboratory and exotic animals. Discussion of Canadian Council and Animal Care Regulations is included.

Students will develop knowledge and skills covered in previous lab courses, as well as learning to collect, prepare and evaluate samples for clinical chemistry and cytology.

This introductory Indigenous Studies course is designed to introduce students to Indigenous worldviews and Indigenous Ways of Knowing through Indigenous teachings on the land. The course will emphasize learning and experiences away from campus and the representation of the diverse perspectives of Indigenous peoples in northwestern Alberta. Through learning experiences with Indigenous Elders, Knowledge Keepers, and Cultural Advisors, students will develop awareness of Indigenous Knowledge, culture, and ecological stewardship. Students are advised that some travel within the Grande Prairie region is required for this course.

This course explores children's expressive and receptive language development as well as their construction of knowledge about the reading and writing process. Students will examine ways in which preschool environments can support children in their attempts to understand and use the language system of their society. This course provides students with a solid foundation for facilitating preschool children's development in speaking, listening, reading and writing.

The course prepares learners with the knowledge and capabilities for working within complex interprofessional environments in health care. It focuses on six key interprofessional competencies (patient/client/family/community-centred care, interprofessional communication, role clarification, team functioning, interprofessional conflict resolution and collaborative leadership). The course culminates with the application of knowledge to authentic scenarios and demonstration of effective collaborative teamwork.

A course in which students acquire both theoretical and practical knowledge using various forms of resistance training. Emphasis will be placed upon providing the student with leardership skills on resistance training techiniques, lifting mechanics, program design and implementation.
